Co-Director of Programming & Creative Producer Broadway Advocacy Coalition

  • Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC) is an arts-based advocacy organization with the mission to use arts and storytelling to build a more equitable society – and to build the collective capacity of individuals, organizations, and coalitions to do the same. Through workshops, performances, and educational initiatives BAC empowers artists, legal advocates, and community advocates to challenge oppressive systems, particularly within the criminal justice system

  • As Co-Director of Programming & Creative Producer, I led innovative programming and initiatives, blending artistry with advocacy to inspire social change.

  • BAC sought to deepen its impact by strengthening programs that built artists’ capacity to use their gifts as tools for systemic change, particularly in advocacy efforts related to criminal justice reform. Engagement with artists and community advocates needed to increase, alongside operational efficiency and program visibility.

  • I spearheaded initiatives including the Artivism Fellowship, a seven month artistic residency designed to equip artists with the resources, mentorship, and platforms to craft work that addresses systemic oppression and amplifies marginalized voices. This program, along with others that I co-produced (Arts in Action Festival, BwayforBLM, Impact Projects), served as a strategic solution to BAC's mission, offering artists the tools to integrate advocacy into their practice, while fostering growth and collaboration.

    • Increased program applications by 35% and achieved a 100% alumni retention rate by cultivating meaningful, long-term engagement with artists and advocates.

    • Boosted attendance across events by 45% through innovative programming and outreach.

    • Managed $100K+ budgets and led technical and creative teams to execute 15 impactful performances, including A Night of Artivism at MCC Theater, Playwrights Horizons, and Abrons Arts Center.

    • Strengthened partnerships with advocacy organizations like the Alliance for Quality Education, Release Aging People from Prison, and the Justice Beyond Punishment Coalition, enhancing BAC’s role as a vital connector between artists and systemic reform efforts.

Through these efforts, BAC became a leading platform for artistry and advocacy, significantly expanding its reach and long-term influence. My contributions played a key role in earning BAC its Special Tony Award in 2020 and advancing its mission to empower artists as changemakers.
